Rock Bottom

A two-part mixed media series combining pencil drawing with digital photography. In the first piece, a solid rock emerges from a body of water—quiet, immovable, and certain—symbolising the unwavering foundation of faith. In the second, a lone hand stretches upward from beneath the surface, reaching for help in a moment of silent desperation. Together, the works speak to the tension between drowning and deliverance, fragility and firmness, questioning and trust. Created with layered pencil lines over real photographic textures, this series captures the profound beauty of being met by something greater right at the breaking point—when surrender meets rescue.
